BITCOIN MARKET CAP

How much is all Bitcoin worth?

Every Bitcoin that exists, valued at the latest price, next to what people actually paid for it.

What all the Bitcoin in the world is worth

5,904 daily readings since 2010

What all the Bitcoin in the world is worth, one reading a day since a price first existed for it. Equal steps up the scale are equal percentage rises, so 2010's few hundred thousand dollars and the trillions of recent years fit one view.

Right now

All the Bitcoin in the world is worth $1.63 trillion. That is $37.2 billion less than the day before.

Market value counts every coin that exists at the latest price. This reading counts them at Bitcoin's close on 14 Oct 2026, the most recent complete day, and takes in nothing else.

What changed

Over the past week the total is down $36.7 billion, 2.19% lower. Over the past year it is down $626.9 billion, 27.72% lower. The past 30 days ran the other way: up $57.7 billion, 3.66% higher.

How the total has changed, over each window the record covers

The past week−$36.65B−2.19%
The past 30 days+$57.68B+3.66%
The past year−$626.87B−27.72%

Almost all of this movement is the price moving. The number of coins grows by well under one percent a year, so the total follows the price and very little else.

The most it has been worth

The most all Bitcoin has been worth on one day is $2.48 trillion, on 6 Oct 2025, 12 months ago. The 14 Oct 2026 reading is $850.2 billion below that.

How far the price of a single coin sits below its own record is a different number, because there are more coins now than there were then.

Against what the market paid

On 14 Oct 2026 all Bitcoin was worth $1.63 trillion, while the market had paid $1.08 trillion for the same coins. The difference is a paper gain of $552.6 billion.

Market value counts every coin that exists at the latest price. Its twin, realized value, counts each coin at the price it last moved at instead. The difference between them is paper profit the market is sitting on, not money anyone has taken out. All Bitcoin has been worth less than the market paid for it on 653 of the 5,401 days both totals cover, most recently on 12 Jan 2023.

How to read it

Treat this as a size, not a bank balance.

It is the cleanest way to compare Bitcoin against itself over the years, and against anything else measured the same way. Nobody could sell every coin at the latest price, because selling would move the price long before the last coin found a buyer. And coins whose owners have lost the secret that moves them are still counted here, because the chain cannot tell a lost coin from a patient one.

Understanding
Bitcoin Market Cap

Where it stands today

All the Bitcoin in the world is worth $1.63T put together as of .

What does this chart measure?

Bitcoin's market cap, also called its total network value, is one multiplication: how many coins exist, times the price of one coin. Nothing else goes into it. On 14 Oct 2026 that came to $1.63 trillion.

Is that money sitting somewhere?

No. It is a price tag, not a pile of cash. Nobody could sell every Bitcoin at the latest price, because selling would move the price long before the last coin found a buyer. The figure says what the most recent trade implies about all the coins at once, which is a useful thing to track and is not money that exists anywhere.

Why does it move almost exactly like the price?

Because the other half of the multiplication barely changes. The number of coins grows by less than one percent a year and slows every four years, so nearly every move you see in this total is the price moving rather than the supply changing.

How is this different from what everyone paid?

Market value counts every coin that exists at the latest price. Its twin, realized value, counts each coin at the price it last moved at instead. So this one re-prices every coin the moment the market does, and its twin only moves when coins actually change hands. The gap between the two is the paper profit the market is sitting on. It has gone the other way: on 653 of the 5,401 days both totals cover, all Bitcoin was worth less than the market had paid for it, most recently on 12 Jan 2023. Open what everyone paid.

Are lost coins counted?

Yes. Coins whose owners have lost the secret that moves them are still in this total, because the chain cannot tell a lost coin from a patient one. Nobody knows how many there are, so every estimate of a smaller total is a guess laid over this one.

How often does it change?

The record steps one day at a time and holds complete days only, so the newest reading is the last full day, 14 Oct 2026. The live price in the header moves through the day; this page does not.
