COINBASE BITCOIN RESERVES OVER TIME
How Have Coinbase's Bitcoin Reserves Changed?
The coins sitting on the addresses we have matched to Coinbase, every day rather than only today.
Coins we can see on Coinbase
Every coin sitting on the Bitcoin addresses we have matched to this company, counted at the end of each day. Read the level as a floor: an address nobody has matched yet holds coins this line cannot see.
RIGHT NOW
We can see 7,791 BTC on the addresses we know for Coinbase. As of Nov 6, 2026.
That reading is down 0.7% over the past 32 days.

Which addresses are counted?
66 of the 43,299 addresses we have matched to Coinbase hold coin today. The rest are addresses it has used and emptied, which is normal and is why the two numbers are shown together. As of Nov 6, 2026.
What can our tracing follow?
Worked out by Maketo from the Bitcoin chain itself, by grouping the addresses that spend together. These two counts answer different questions, and neither one contains the other. So the page never subtracts one from the other and never states one as a share of the other.
In the wallet groups we can trace to Coinbase
4 wallet groups, holding 18.97% of every coin our tracing attaches to an exchange. As of Nov 4, 2026.
Are coins moving in or out of the wallet groups we trace to Coinbase?
In those wallet groups, more coin left than arrived. Over the past month they took in 817,474 BTC and sent out 832,728 BTC, a net 15,254 BTC out, to Nov 4, 2026. Coin moving on to an exchange is often coin being lined up to sell, and coin moving off is often coin going into storage, but neither is a promise.

Where does this line come from?
Every coin on Bitcoin sits at an address, and an address is public. What is not public is who owns which one, so the work here is matching addresses to the company that controls them. This page adds up the coins on the addresses we have matched to Coinbase and states the total at the end of each day, so the line is a record of the pile rather than a single reading of it.
Why is the level a floor?
Read the level as a floor. A company that has never spent from an address gives nobody a reason to connect it, and an address nobody has connected holds coins this line cannot see. So the real pile is this figure or larger, never smaller, and a step up can mean coins arriving or an address we had not recognised before. What the number is not is a promise: Coinbase owes its customers whatever it owes them, and that is a question about its books rather than about the chain.
What does the movement tell you?
The movement is the part worth watching, and it is the part a single day cannot show. A line that climbs for weeks says coins are being sent to Coinbase and left there, and one that falls says they are being taken away. Neither is good news or bad news on its own. Compare it with the same line on the other exchanges rather than reading it alone: coin leaving one venue and arriving at another is one decision, and a market-wide total hides it completely.
