What is spot taker volume?
Every trade has a buyer and a seller, and one of them was waiting. An order that queues at a chosen price waits to be met; an order that takes a price already on offer happens at once and is the one in a hurry. Taker volume counts the money on the hurried side, trade by trade as it printed on Kraken's spot market, where the coins themselves change owner.
Why more than one line?
It is split in two. Taker buying is money that took a price someone was offering to sell at; taker selling is coins sold into a price someone was offering to buy at. When buying runs above selling for days, the eager money is on the buying side, and the other way round when selling leads.
How does it fit with the day's trading?
It is not a count of people. Every trade is counted once, on the side that took the price, so the buying and the selling together make up the day's spot trading on Kraken. What the split adds is which side was in a hurry. And it is the spot market only. Bets on the price made in a futures market are counted apart and are never added here.
