Bitcoin Returns By Day
Where it stands today
Across 5,910 daily changes, Monday averages +0.593% and Thursday averages +0.105% as of .
What an average daily change measures
Each reading compares one day's closing price with the day before, including across the turn of a month and the turn of a year. The figure on each row is the plain average of every such reading that landed on that day.
Why the rows do not all carry the same evidence
Bitcoin trades every day, so the seven weekdays each hold about the same number of readings. The dates of the month do not: only seven months have a 31st, so that row rests on roughly six in ten of the readings behind the 1st. Rows built on fewer readings are marked.
What these averages can and cannot tell you
A gap of a tenth of a percent across fifteen years of daily moves is small next to how far Bitcoin travels in a single day. These describe what happened, not what happens next, and no row here is a reason to buy or sell on a particular day.
